costliest banana i have bought...:P
it mite be silly or funny to write this down....
i arrived at New York airport(first time abroad) on the way to syracuse(my destination university), i was very hungry and when i was just looking around for stores i happened to see a fruit and a cofee stall in the airport, for a moment i forgot i was in a strangers country, went to the shop and asked for "two bananas"(since they looked very pleasing to eyes). The shopkeeper gave me the banana and started asking me abt where was i from and why did i travel to America?.. she printed the bill and gave it to me. it said 2.20$ +0.39$(tax)=2.59$.
i din bother to convert it to rupees and i just payed her the money. after a while something just made me convert that amount to indian rupees and i was stunned thinking its a very costly country...:P and i wondered a mac chicken from macdonalds(1$)is priced less than half the amount for those two bananas. still laughed at myself and even that situation that confused abt this country where raw fruit is costlier than a burger meal....
i still hold that bill in my pocket just because it reminds me of those funny moments when i had to travel a long distance to a country unknown to me...
